Robert was born in the north west
of England on the 31st of January 1980.
He was brought up on the family farm where his Father continues
to be a successful producer and seller of young show jumping horses,
having produced many top Grand Prix horses such as, Anglezarke,
Maybe, Bluebird, Clover and many more.
Robert
has always been surrounded by horses, growing up he competed
in a hand full of shows on ponies, but his first passion was
football. Robert started show jumping more seriously from
the age of 15.
Robert started to compete on horses rather than
ponies and he was soon following his father’s footsteps
producing young 3 and 4 year olds.
By the age of 19 he had made he had made his
first appearance at the Horse of the Year Show in the prestigious
Foxhunter final and also the Grade C final.
By the age of 21 he had made the Young Riders
European Championship Team and the following year won his
first international Grand Prix at CSI Balmoral in Ireland.
Soon after he made his senior nations cup debut in Denmark.
